The JV had a good night on both ends of the court winning 57-30. The hot shooting from Cayden Stump (4-3’s) and a great job of leading the offense from junior point guard Caleb Sirmon proved to be too much for the Broncos. Leading scorers for the Eagles were Cayden Stump 22, Isaac Pettigrew 11, Brandon English 8, Caleb Sirmon 7.
The Salado Eagles moved to 1-0 in district with a 59-42 win over a young and athletic Lake Belton Bronco team. The game went back and forth early but Junior guard Josh Goings and Sophomore post Josh Gilpin would get going in the 2nd with 12 points. This helped lead the Eagles to a 33-22 half time lead. The Eagles defense in the 2nd half would appear to be too tough for the Broncos. The Eagle D would hold the Broncos to just 20 points in the 2nd half. Leading scorers were Josh Goings 22, Noah Mescher 11, Noah Self 8, Josh Gilpin 7.
