Girls Varsity Basketball · Lady Eagles pull out a 52-49 win against Lampasas despite the storm that blew through.

Despite the storm blowing through Lampasas and being put in the locker rooms during the JV halftime for a tornado warning, the Lady Eagles came out to begin their game with one thing in mind…To WIN.  After a first quarter 21-9 lead and being on fire behind the 3 point arch, the Eagles hang on to the win as the Badgers fought back.  Five of the seven threes were made in the first quarter by the Lady Eagles.  Kaia Philen led the way with 14 points, hitting 2 threes in the first quarter, and pulling down 7 rebounds.  Amanda Cantu was close behind with 12 points and 2 threes in the first quarter also.  Reese Preston hit the last three in the first quarter.  Lorena Perez led the boards with 11 rebounds and finished the game with 8 points.  Jasey Goings, coming off an ankle injury which held her out most of the pre-season, came in off the bench to hit 2 threes and chip in 8 points.  Priscilla Torczynski played a great defensive game as she came away with 5 steals. Free throws were a key at the close of the game and the Lady Eagles  did just what they needed to do to end the game 52-49.  The Lady Eagles are now 1-0 in district and will travel to Eastside on Tuesday to play at 6:15.
