Varsity – The Varsity Lady Eagles would stumble out of the gate and came up short against a talented Liberty Hill squad o Friday night. After dropping the first two sets with scores of 11-25 and 10-25, the Salado found their game, but it would be too little too late. The Lady Panthers completed the sweep with an 18-25 victory. Erin Faske would be the leader on the floor tonight for Salado, keeping her team in the game with 7 digs in the third set alone. Lainey Taylor would also step up and compete with 4 blocks.
JV Red – The JV Red squad would compete hard against Liberty Hill, but ultimately fall in straight sets. After falling behind 8-2, Salado would outplay Liberty Hill for the rest of the set, but couldn’t put the Lady Panthers away late. Liberty Hill would take a 1-0 lead winning 26-28. Salado would again get off to a slow start against in set two, but 11-15 would be as close as they would get before Liberty Hill pulled away to win 14-25. JV Red Coach, Clint Brown, was excited to see his team battle. “That match was played at a very high level and we showed how teamwork, effort, and energy can compete with talent any day.”
JV White – Salado’s JV White team would play great in spurts, but was ultimately too inconsistent to win the match. Salado would lose in straight sets (14-25, 17-25).
Salado is back on the road Tuesday night (10/8) against the Lady Ducks of Taylor where the Lady Eagles will look to rebound back into the win column.
