The Lady Eagles 8th grade A team would struggle in their opener on Friday against Academy dropping the match in straight sets. Saturday would see a different team. Salado would steamroll Bonham in 2 games to advance to the consolation match to face district opponent, Lampasas. After losing the first set, the Lady Eagles bounced back to force a 3rd set to 15. After falling behind 0-6, the girls dug in and came all the way back to win 15-11 to claim the consolation prize.
The B team girls would struggle to find their footing losing their first two matches to Lampasas and Bonham in straight sets.
7A finished 2nd overall over the weekend. They defeated Academy and Lake Belton before falling to a 7th & 8th combined Crawford team in the championship. Katy Bartek and Holly Giesecke lead the Lady Eagles with dominant serving and aggressive floor play.
7th grade B team won their opener against Lampasas, but would fall to Lake Belton to land in the 3rd place game where they would defeat Academy to claim bronze. Consistent serving from Joanna Steigerwalt, Diamond Leach, Ava Magoulik, and Madison Graham would lead the way with team captain, Haley Piatak, displaying leadership on the court.
The Lady Eagles host Marble Falls Thursday, 10/12, at 5pm. 7A and 8B play the first game with 8A and 7B to follow.
